Dementia Care Programs and A.D.O.R.E Memory Care Policy
Decker’s Family Care is proud to present specific programs and safe quality care for those individuals diagnosed with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s like diseases under our A.D.O.R.E. program. One of a kind program to the International Falls and surrounding area. Compare our credentials and staff training.
The following Minnesota statute requirements are satisfied by the following program descriptions:
- MN Statute 144D.065
- MN Statute 325F.72 subd 2 clause 4
Dementia care services OR MEMORY CARE cannot be advertised or promoted within a licensed establishment without satisfying the aforementioned statutes and conditions.
All residents with a diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer’s, or like diseases shall have a doctor’s orders for care including “Activities of Daily Living” (ADL’s).
The Dementia training and in-house certification programs are a mandatory intense 12 hour program by the Advanced Health Care Systems. LLC – Classroom/Testing for all new employee orientations; licensed and non-licensed. This training is in addition, and exceeds any other required orientation training for Minnesota licensing. All current care staff has successfully completed this program in its entirety. Each care staff has successful completion documentation that can be reviewed upon request. Current certification is maintained in their personnel file. This program consists of RN led classroom including lecture, video presentation, practical exercises, and written testing. Assisting with Activities of Daily Living

Refresher training topics will take place monthly. Decker’s Family Care will support and promote its staff to attend 3rd party training related to dementia when feasible.
Our staff has also completed recently the Aging Services of Minnesota Dementia Care certification program.
This program is the only program in the nation that meets the National Alzheimer’s Associations guidelines. Early Dementia; Related Dementia Disease and What Provider’s Need to Know; Mental Illness and Dementia; Organizational Philosophy of Caring and its Impact on Dementia Care; Appropriate Use of Medications; Partners in Dementia Care; Supporting Caregivers and Partners; The Role of the Environment In Promoting Quality Dementia Care; Legal Aspects of Decision Making; End of Life Care; Dementia Basics and Practical Approaches to Disease Sx-Part 1; Dementia Basics and Practical Approaches to Disease Sx-Part 2; The Art of Engagement; Practical Approaches to Activities
These new services and facility will offer dementia services that are currently not offered in our community.
