To find a pot filled with gold
While celebrating in our community

Balanced nutrition is always important but especially during National Nutrition Month. Embrace healthy eating habits now that will last all year long.

• Include two servings of proteins each day to maintain strength and muscle mass.
• Add foods rich in calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 for healthy bones.
• Drink plenty of fluids to promote organ function and prevent dehydration.
• Support digestion and manage cholesterol with fiber-rich whole grains and vegetables.

Cheers to eating well and feeling great!

Since February is Berry Fresh Month, we thought it was a berry good time to highlight some of these tasty fruits and offer tips for incorporating them into your daily diet.

Blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries are rich in nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber. These superfruits help:

• Enhance cognitive function and lower the risk of dementia
• Promote heart health
• Aid in digestion
• Reduce age-related inflammation

Adding berries to your daily diet is easy and delicious. Consider having berries as a snack or putting them in salads, cereal, yogurt, or oatmeal.

February is American Heart Month and a good reminder to take an active role in keeping your heart healthy. Heart disease affects people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. Each year, more than 650,000 Americans die from heart disease.

You can lower your risk of heart disease by:

• Eating a balanced, healthy diet
• Managing cholesterol and blood pressure
• Staying active

Talk to your doctor about a cholesterol test to find out if you may be at risk and what kind of adjustments you can make to protect your heart.
