FREE Community Yoga Class Every Tuesday at 5:50pm at the Whispering Pines Recreation Building. Doors open at 5:30pm, please bring a yoga mat and water 🧘🏻‍♂️🧘🏻‍♀️.

Enjoy a classical and wholistic approach to yoga that stretches and tones the whole body. Practice yogic breathing to relax, sun salutations to warm up, and a sequence of poses to build strength, balance and flexibility. This All Levels class is an active and joyful class filled with happy yogis who are always welcoming.

1. Yama (Social Ethics): Moral constraints including Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (moderation), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness).

2. Niyama (Personal Disciplines): Self-purification practices including Saucha (purity), Santosha (contentment), Tapas (discipline), Svadyaya (self-study), and Ishvara-pranidhana (surrender).

3. Asana (Physical Postures): Poses aimed at creating health, strength, stability and ease for long periods of meditation.

4. Pranayama (Breath Control): Expansion of vital energy through control of breath.

5. Pratyahara (Withdrawal of Senses): Detaching from external sensory distractions to look inward.

6. Dharana (Concentration): Fixing the mind on a single point or focus.

I’m thankful that with the support of Inverness Parks and Recreation, I am offering a Free Community Yoga Class weekly at the Whispering Pines Recreation Building. Classes are Tuesday evenings at 5:50-7:05pm and are FREE to the community. Doors will open at 5:30pm, please bring a yoga mat and water 🧘🏻‍♂️🧘🏻‍♀️.
