The Christmas Parade is tomorrow, and there are multiple road closures and detours. If you are coming to the office tomorrow, make sure to look at your route before coming in! 🎄🎁

🎄✨ Inverness Christmas Parade Route and Viewing Map ✨🎄

It is almost parade time everyone! Here is everything you need to know to find the perfect viewing spot and enjoy a magical afternoon in downtown Inverness on Saturday, Dec. 13th!

📍 Parade Route and Viewing Information
Park along W Main St beginning in the area of Cherry Ave, (next to Taco Bell). The parade will enter W Main St, by Dunkin Donuts, and head east toward downtown Inverness, then turn off at E Grace St right after Mama's Kuntry Kafe. The parade will then follow Grace St towards HCA Florida Citrus Hospital, following the curve to the right, turning left to continue on to Grace St, turning left on S Line Ave, then turning right onto W Highland Blvd, ending at Citrus High School.

🚧 Traffic and Road Closures: A Main Street detour is in effect Saturday from 10:30 AM to 2 PM

Main Street will be closed from Hwy 44 East to Montgomery Ave. All traffic will be detoured around Main Street via Montgomery Ave and W Highland Blvd,
N Apopka Ave, E Dampier Street, and Dr Martin Luther King Jr Ave will be closed;
Traffic will be detoured down E Dampier St to N Seminole Ave onto Tompkins St,
Grace St will be closed; All traffic will be detoured via W Highland Blvd.

• Gospel Island residents will use Zephyr Street and Tompkins St to Hwy 41 North

• Highlands South community can utilize alternate routes to 41 South by using Hill Street Inverness Blvd and Pleasant Grove Road via West Arbor Street.

Parade is scheduled to start at 12pm! Please plan extra travel time and follow all posted signage and directions from law enforcement to ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone.

🇺🇸 This Veterans Day, Inverness Tinnitus Center salutes the brave men and women who’ve served our country and sacrificed so much. Among those sacrifices are often the invisible ones; like the persistent ringing or buzzing known as tinnitus.

Tinnitus is the number one service-connected disability; more than 2.9 million U.S. veterans receive disability compensation for tinnitus.
Veterans reported tinnitus at a rate of 11.7%, compared with 5.4% for non-veterans.
These numbers reflect the reality that service-related noise exposures (aircraft, machinery, weapons, etc.) place veterans at higher risk.

At Inverness Tinnitus Center, we are committed to supporting veterans who experience tinnitus; helping with assessment, management strategies, and improved quality of life.

Inverness Tinnitus Center joins our community in mourning the loss of Deputy Andres “Andy” Lahera. We extend our condolences to his family and friends.

𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐅’𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐘 𝐋𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐀

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆, 𝗙𝗟 – With heavy hearts, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office announces the passing of Deputy Andres “Andy” Lahera, a beloved member of our law enforcement family and a devoted public servant. Deputy Lahera’s life was defined by his steadfast dedication to the safety and well-being of Citrus County, and his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Deputy Lahera dedicated fourteen years of his life to protecting and uplifting the Citrus County community. From his earliest days on patrol to his most recent role as a School Resource Officer from 2018 to 2023, Andy was a dependable presence in the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues. His commitment to public safety was matched only by his deep care for the people he served.

On May 23, 2023, while carrying out his duties, Deputy Lahera was critically injured in an incident that shook our agency and community to its core. For over two years, Andy fought valiantly with the same strength and resolve that defined his career. His passing marks the end of a chapter filled with bravery, sacrifice, and love.

Deputy Lahera is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle, and their two sons, Vincent and Nicholas. To them, Andy was more than a hero; he was a loving husband, a guiding father, and a source of endless pride. The Citrus County Sheriff's Office stands beside the Lahera family in grief and gratitude, honoring Andy’s memory and the immeasurable impact he made.
