The Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County is a private, not-for-profit corporation that assists pregnant women, and families in need. Our trained staff and volunteers provide emotional l support. Established in 1982, the pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County has cast a vision to empower women and men to choose life through a holistic and faith centered approach that nurtures, well-being, fosters community, and promotes personal growth. Over the past 40 plus years, the PFLC has been accomplishing and achieved a generational impact to the lives of our clients and their extended families. This has been made possible through their approach to life affirming care and services, which are all offered free to our clients, including Women's Wellness program, pregnancy testing, limited ultrasound, STD testing, mental health program, prenatal parenting and family life lessons, family financial coaching a men's mentoring program, clothing, food, pantry, community referrals and adoption referrals. In addition to this, the Pregnancy and Family Life Center also reaches out to serve children and families of our community by hosting a back-to-school bash in late July. At Christmas time, we sign our families up to receive gifts from Santa through the ELF program. Last year we added our mobile pregnancy center fully equipped with ultrasound capabilities. We travel around Citrus County to engage pregnant women and get them the resources they need to choose life and have a healthy pregnancy. We partner with local homeless organizations to provide women's Wellness and mental health services. Moving forward, the Pregnancy and Family Life Center will continue to adapt and meet the needs of our community. Together, we can support mothers and young children and their families make a positive impact on their lives for generations to come. Ways you can join us in supporting mothers and families are through prayer, and financially you can become a monthly partner or with a one-time donation. Another area is becoming a church liaison or contact person for your church in the center. When we have events, we can reach out to our liaisons to get the word out and coordinate with the congregations, so everyone is kept up to date with our needs and events that we have. The Pregnancy and Family Life Center operates with approximately 30 volunteers and 6 staff and we are always looking for more volunteers. Ways your church can help: they can host a baby shower for our moms, participate in our annual fundraising events, invite a speaker to their women's group or meeting and most importantly, pray for our ministry, pray for our moms and families and our volunteers. We have an active needs list on our website at www.partnersofpflc.org. We are on the front-lines, and it is a battle over life and death daily. Our world is changing, and evil surrounds us. But, we know the Creator and we put our trust in Him. Just like Jesus positions people in our personal lives to encourage and support us, He does the same for the Pregnancy and Family Life Center. I urge you to pray about how you can help and support the PFLC. I welcome you to come and tour our building, your life will be forever changed.
