Over the last couple of weeks I realized I needed to get myself checked out soon… but my primary care has been my own holistic work, a massage yesterday and scalp detox today, which probably looks a little different than the average person’s version of “PCP appointments.”
Yesterday’s massage was eye‑opening. I have to brag on Tiff Biggs because she picked up on something with my lymphatic system that I hadn’t even considered. She worked that whole left side with such intention, and by this morning things were definitely moving with detox symptoms, sweating, shifting, and even a slight headache once I started today’s scalp treatment. Not in a concerning way, but in that “my body is processing and releasing” way that reminds me how important hydration is before and after any holistic treatment.
Which brings me to today’s spotlight: scalp detoxing.
Taylor absolutely exceeded every expectation. She specializes in these treatments at Wild Roots, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything she used was clean, natural, and aligned with my crunchy nature (lol). I have very much considered doing a Japanese head spa however I felt this experience was so much more personal and energetically supportive. We need hands‑on connection. Our bodies are energetic beings so touch matters, presence matters, and the human element is part of the healing.
What I love most is that this wasn’t just a relaxation service. It was truly holistic by supporting body, mind, and spirit and still leaving me feeling refreshed, grounded, and naturally beautiful.
I want to advocate for our community to know that you can choose treatments that feel luxurious and relaxing while also being genuinely good for your health. You don’t have to choose between wellness and beauty. You can have both.
And these last two days were the perfect reminder of that.
Thank you Tiff and Taylor!!
Here’s a reminder to everyone to go drink your water as I’m chugging mine in the care as we speak!
