Hazard mitigation is the effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters. It is most effective when implemented under a comprehensive, long‑term mitigation plan, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Faces of Inwood: meet Amber!

When asked, Amber shared “I have lived in Inwood for almost my entire life. What I enjoy most about Inwood is being surrounded by people doing their best. This is a place where there is a village that cares about your kids with you. Church congregations supporting each other through all seasons of life! Small town life isn’t always fancy or new, but it’s real and a special place to build a life.
We are so thankful our kids can grow up here! Going straight from the school bus to the baseball field to meet up with any kids from town that want to play. Have a pool to cool off on those hot summer days. Pickleball games at the park. 4th of July memories and soon a community center to hide from a winter storm after building snowmen with neighbor kids. Not to mention coffee shops and stores to enjoy together.”

Let’s celebrate the amazing people who make our city so special!

Faces of Inwood: meet Taylor!

I have lived in Inwood all 29 years of my life.

What I love most about Inwood is being able to raise our three children in such a welcoming and supportive community. I especially appreciate the dedication of those who work hard to help our neighborhood grow and thrive.

Let’s celebrate the people who make our city so amazing!

The City believes there is a water leak but has not been able to determine where. It is not connected to a meter which has made it very difficult to locate. City staff have been checking manholes and anywhere where there are puddles that we wouldn’t typically see with rainfall. If you notice standing water in an uncommon location, please let the City know by messaging here or calling City Hall at 712-753-4833.
