Iola Fire and Ambulance

Iola Fire and Ambulance Iola Fire Department was established in 1892. The Iola and Rural Fire Department and Ambulance service is a volunteer, paid-on-call department.

We service over 225 square miles including areas in both Waupaca and Portage counties.

And that's a wrap on the 2025 First Aid Station for Iola Car Show. Countless Ice Packs, Band Aids, NASIDs, and Cold Waters later.

It took the efforts of 25x EMTs, 2x UTVs, 3x Golf Carts, 1x Ambulance, 1x Gas Station Dinosaur, and LOTS of Coffee to staff the station for 36 hours over the past three days.

A special thanks to our Volunteers from neighboring service areas who came to help. We hope to work with you again next year!

SCAM ALERT: Text and e-mail scams are circulating once again. The recent wave of scams warns of a “final notice” or of an unspecified “unpaid traffic violation” and includes a fraudulent link to try and get individuals to pay for the fake violation.

Remember, the Wisconsin DMV will NEVER text or e-mail you saying you owe money. If you receive one of these messages:

✅ Report and delete the message.

For the second day in a row, all counties in the Northwoods are under a Red Flag Warning (Fire Weather Warning) until this evening. We will have low humidity and breezy winds just like yesterday.

: High to very high fire danger on Friday (5/9/25) with the Wisconsin DNR reporting 14 wildfires and over 9 acres burned through 5:30 PM. The elevated fire danger will be a concern through the weekend into Monday. Avoid doing any burning.
