Our University of Iowa fellows attended the UNC RAAPM Fellowship Cadaver and Regional Anesthesia Course on Saturday, August 30, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This hands-on course is designed to provide incoming fellows with a strong foundation as they begin their RAAPM training. We are proud to have our fellows represent Iowa alongside 18 participants from 9 programs across North America. It's a great day to be a Hawkeye!💛🖤

Here’s Dr. Carver Ching, who waited to do his senior spotlight until his second daughter arrived—because what better way to mark the end of residency than by celebrating his growing family!

Hometown: Castlewood, SD

Medical School: University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine
Post-grad plans: Private Practice in Sioux Falls, SD

Favorite memory from residency: Tailgates. Night call shenanigans. Anesthesia residency golf outings. Also squeezing in hospital holiday dinners with the family while working.

Favorite way to spend your post-call day: Sleep, time with family, and either golf or the gym depending on the weather.
Favorite breakfast spot post-nights: McDonalds to go and enjoyed at the Jobsite Bar.

Graduation this weekend really has us feeling all the feels! The CA-3’s took their senior trip to the Wisconsin Dells a few weeks ago and spent the weekend going down water slides and holding onto each others pool tubes for dear life down the lazy river.
Couldn’t imagine a better group of people to do residency with for the past 4 years. 😊🎓
