NuCara Pharmacy is excited to welcome Melissa Fiedler to our North Dakota pharmacy locations. Melissa grew up on a farm southwest of Pisek, ND, as one of four children. She and her husband, Chad, now make their home in West Fargo, where they stay busy supporting their two children, Kate and Jack, in a variety of school activities including track, hockey, baseball, and orchestra. When she can, Melissa enjoys taking walks for a bit of “me time.”

A graduate of North Dakota State University, Melissa has spent the majority of her career with Thrifty White Pharmacy. During her time there, she served as manager of a long-term care closed-door site and led the Ready Refill program. Most recently she has worked as a staff pharmacist in Telepharmacy.

Melissa has had the opportunity to be a relief pharmacist at NuCara and experience firsthand the warm, genuine atmosphere of the team. She is looking forward to bringing her experience and enthusiasm to NuCara and serving patients across North Dakota for years to come. Welcome, Melissa!

NuCara first opened its doors in 1972 to meet a vital need for pharmacy services in the community. At the time, Conrad had a busy medical clinic, but no local pharmacy. Founder TJ Johnsrud recognized the opportunity to serve and partnered with the clinic to bring this essential service to town. By 1975, the pharmacy moved to its current location next to the clinic, improving patient access to care.

What began as a single small-town pharmacy has grown into a company with over 25 pharmacy locations, 11 home medical equipment locations, and more than 500 employees across Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Texas. In the early 2000s, NuCara moved its corporate headquarters to Conrad, a meaningful return to our roots.

Despite our growth, we remain committed to rural communities. From prescription services to immunizations and home medical equipment, we’re proud to support our neighbors with compassionate, innovative care. At NuCara Conrad, you're not just a patient, you’re part of our story.

Please welcome Jennifer Meurer to the NuCara Pharmacy team in Pleasant Hill!

Jennifer’s passion for pharmacy began in high school, inspired by her hometown pharmacist, Dave, whose care and dedication made a meaningful impact in their Winterset community. Determined to follow in his footsteps, she went on to earn her pharmacy degree from Drake University.
Jennifer began her career at Medicap Pharmacy in Audubon and went on to manage the Medicap in Ankeny for over 19 years. In 2025, she made the decision to seek a better work-life balance and found her way to NuCara, where patient-centered care remains a top priority.

She now enjoys more time at home in Ankeny with her husband, Kevin, and their two sons, Karter (14) and Brenden (11). Jennifer stays busy volunteering and cheering on her boys in baseball, basketball, 4-H, choir, and band. Outside of work and family, she enjoys traveling and attending Broadway productions—especially with her mom, with whom she shares season tickets to the Willis Broadway Series.

Jennifer is excited to get to know the patients and team at NuCara Pleasant Hill and looks forward to continuing her mission of making a difference through community pharmacy.

So very proud of the passion within our CEO for his water project! He runs for water and has had a rough couple of years, not knowing if he would be able to run again. After undergoing neck surgery just 1 year ago, he got out there and ran for his passion again today! We are simply amazed by his driven determination! "The one thing all humans have in common, is the need for clean water." The world needs more leaders like this man!

One of the runners in tomorrow's University of Okoboji Homecoming half-marathon is covering the miles for a greater good.
This story is free to all as our way to support Mike Stein and his Prairie Fire Foundation. Mike founded his nonprofit to support the Sisters Water Project, which brings fresh water to the people of Tanzania and Honduras.
He also encourages other runners to join his cause.

Please join us in welcoming Ashleigh Arndorfer to NuCara Pharmacy!

Ashleigh brings nearly two decades of pharmacy experience to the team. She began her career in high school as support staff and later became a pharmacy technician. After graduating from pharmacy school at Creighton University in 2018, she completed a community pharmacy residency in North Liberty through the University of Iowa and then worked at Medicap until 2023. Most recently, she worked remotely reviewing prior authorizations but realized she missed the personal connection that comes with working directly with patients and being part of a local community. That’s what drew her to NuCara. She’s excited to be part of a team that values community-focused care and strives to make a difference in patients’ lives.

Ashleigh lives in Waukee with her husband Bryan, their two children Adrienne (6) and Liam (4), and their two big dogs, Moses and Buford. In her free time, she enjoys board and card games, reading, cooking (Ashleigh even hosts cooking competitions with friends and family), and watching Broadway musicals.

You will find Ashleigh working mainly at our Greenfield location but also occasionally in Ames, Story City, Nevada, Zearing, Marshalltown, and Lenox. We're thrilled to have her on board and can’t wait for you to meet her!
