On Sunday our residents stepped into the world of live performance at the James Theater, enjoying the clever, heartfelt play Ripcord.

There’s something special about sharing a story together — the laughter, the surprises, the little moments that spark conversation long after the curtain falls. For many, it was a chance to reconnect with the joy of theater and the feeling of being part of an audience.

For Random Acts of Kindness Day, we packed birthday cake kits with cake, frosting, sprinkles and all; to share with the Iowa City Community Food Bank.

Each kit is a tiny celebration waiting to happen. Residents loved knowing that their hands-on creativity will bring joy to a neighbor they may never meet, but whose birthday will be a little brighter because of them.
