Heads up, Hawkeyes - a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for our area beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday through noon on Sunday. Very cold wind chills are expected, which could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 to 30 minutes. DRESS WARM, limit time outdoors, and keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Calling all night owls! We're looking for a temp security officer to drive a shuttle in support of our Nite Ride service. This is a temporary position assigned to night-shift with an 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. schedule.

Nite Ride Update: Due to the winter storm warning, Nite Ride service will be suspended tonight through Sunday morning. We’ll resume service as soon as conditions improve. The safety of our passengers and drivers is our top priority.

Be safe, stay weather aware, and avoid unnecessary travel.

Stay weather aware throughout the holiday weekend, especially if you’ll be traveling.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the entire area starting Midnight Friday night, and lasting into Sunday morning. Heavy snow with total snow accumulations of 6 or more inches are possible. Winds may gust up to 25 MPH at times. Roads will likely become slick and hazardous by Saturday. Travel could be very difficult due to slippery conditions and reduced visibility. Stay tuned for later updates concerning this winter storm!

Officer Tucker and Lt. Chandler had a great time at the "Mocktail Party" at Currier Hall on Sunday. Huge thanks to the OSCAR student organization for hosting such a creative, educational event focused on safe and responsible alcohol use.
