Did you know we have walk-in mammograms available this month? Not all breast cancers have symptoms that you’ll notice. Mammograms can find cancers that are too small to feel and are the most effective way to find breast cancer early.

Our walk-in mammography clinics are available without an appointment at four locations, so you can have your regular mammography screening when it's convenient for you. Find locations and hours: https://uihc.pulse.ly/x3fiku3fe1

Although Stephanie Hotz, BSN, RN, doesn’t seek the spotlight, her patients never forget her care.

Working the night shift on our Adult Acute Care Unit, Stephanie supported a patient adjusting to life with a tracheostomy — not just by managing their care, but by researching solutions, answering personal questions, and helping them regain confidence. This approach, full of empathy, practicality, and presence, earned her a well-deserved DAISY Award. 💛

Kid Captain Lily Sebastian was born with giant omphalocele, a rare birth defect in which her abdominal organs were outside her body, encased in a sac-like membrane. She had her first surgery — of many — the day after she was born and spent nearly 10 months in the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital neonatal ICU.

“Lily was a very sick NICU baby,” says Lily’s mom, Amber, of Cedar Rapids. “She almost gave up a few times, but the team did not let her. The doctors kept Lily alive.”
