Our reproductive health specialists do more than help women become pregnant. They help patients with the physical and mental highs and lows that are often part of reproductive care.

When Courtney's first pregnancy ended prematurely in 2022, she thought it was somehow her fault, but the physician assistant who helped her throughout her fertility treatments reassured her: “You are not powerful enough to have caused this problem.”

Crowder tried again, and her son, Clark, was born in May 2024.

🩸 When Mor’s twins were born at just 26 weeks, both needed numerous blood transfusions to survive. The couple’s surrogate also required a life-saving transfusion during an emergency C-section.

Today, Mor donates blood at the University of Iowa DeGowin Blood Center to honor those who gave his family more time.

💬 “Every time I donate, I think of the anonymous heroes who saved my babies. One donation can be the difference between hope and heartbreak.”

Seconds count when it comes to getting a stroke patient to the best treatment. An app being developed by our researchers will help paramedics get patients not only to the nearest hospital, but to one with the most effective treatment options.

“Our vision is that a personalized, data-driven destination recommendation app can be used by paramedics throughout Iowa and the country to improve stroke outcomes,” says Nicholas Mohr, MD. https://uiowa.pulse.ly/jrmq0eodw8
