For so many of us, home is more than just a place, it’s where we feel safest. It’s where our memories live, where our routines bring comfort, and where our dignity is preserved. At Visiting Nurse Association, we believe that as people age or recover from illness, they deserve to stay in the place that feels most like them: home.
The heart of the VNA mission is to keep you at home for as a long as safely possible. This means we offer support in every capacity. One major way we support our friends and neighbors to thrive at home is by homemaking services, such as grocery shopping, laundry, light cleaning, and other essential household tasks.
In order to continue offering these vital services, we need your help. Unfortunately, due to recent cuts in state funding and Medicaid, this vital program is at risk, at the very time demand is growing. Nearly 90% of adults over 65 want to remain in their homes, and for good reason. Home is where healing happens-- where identity is preserved, where loved ones gather, and where life feels most meaningful.
In 2020, one in five American adults served as informal caregivers. Our Homemaker Program is a lifeline for these families, offering practical help and peace of mind. It is also far more cost-effective than institutional care—but it requires support from donors like you to remain accessible to those who need it most.
Your gift today will help ensure that our neighbors can continue receiving the support they need to live safely and comfortably at home. Whether you give $25, $50, $100 or more, your generosity helps someone remain in the place where they feel most like themselves.
With your help, we can honor the lives, routines, and dignity of those who deserve nothing less.
