Thank you to Rachel, Leah and Kimber from Iowa City Hospice-Visiting Nurses Association for their important and informative presentation on Advance Directives. They reminded us of the need to discuss your healthcare wishes with your family and have them written down on the I-post, a legal document signed by your doctor. A Living Will, a Durable Power of Attorney and the decision to be resuscitated or not (DNR) are documents that let you communicate your healthcare wishes in case you’re ever unable to speak or make decisions for yourself. They help guide doctors and loved ones so your preferences are respected.
