In case you missed it in yesterday's IowaNow: Chris Klug, MA. shared tips to practice grace and patience in this challenging time.

The fear and despair experienced in reaction to the uncertainty and unpredictability of the world is not going away any time soon. However, it is possible to make room for and cultivate an attitude of wonder and curiosity, and the patience required to witness and savor the grace present in each moment of our lives.

We tend to be harder on ourselves than others. But the harsher we are towards ourselves, the less motivated we will feel. Treat yourself kindly, and do something nice for yourself even when you feel self-critical.

How we feel about our jobs and the work we do often is a work in progress. Some might even call it a love-hate relationship. Our work is not just about what we do or how fast we do it. It is also about who we are and choose to be. It is about the deep meaningfulness of our individual stories, values, and self-understanding.

Finals are stressful. It is important to care for yourself during this time. Be kind to yourself and prioritize your own self-care needs. Be aware of coping strategies that may not support your goals such as increased alcohol or ma*****na use. It is normal to feel stressed and overwhelmed during this time.
