The University of Iowa: University Counseling Service We are the primary mental health agency for students on The University of Iowa campus. Welcome to the University Counseling Service (UCS).

We are a professional staff of twelve doctoral-level psychologists, a case manager, and three psychology interns and provide short-term individual, group, and couples counseling to students. We also provide consultation, psychoeducational programs, and training. The University Counseling Service (UCS) is located in 3223 Westlawn on Newton Road west of the Iowa River (see MAP). Come in the entrance

“Who am I when I’m not busy with school?”

Without assignments, deadlines, studying, and constant productivity, summer can create space for a different kind of question: who are you outside of achievement?

Sometimes growth looks like trying new things, reconnecting with old parts of yourself, noticing what energizes you, or simply giving yourself permission to exist without constantly performing. Reflection can be a powerful way to reconnect with yourself beyond the roles and responsibilities of student life.
