We were honored to be a part of the premier episode of Blend: An Iowa Foodie Experience. Host Nate Kaeding explores the North Side of Iowa City with a stop in the kitchen at the Webster. That's where we enter the scene! The crew visited the farm to meet the ducks that supply the eggs behind their amazing tagliatelle. There is a bit of goat yoga thrown in for good measure. 😉 Give it a look and stay tuned for future episodes.

Interested in learning about AI? Artificial insemination, of course! Join us November 1 from 10 - 2 at the farm for an informative hands-on workshop all about goat breeding and reproduction. The instructor is Margaret Chamas of Storm Dancer Farm in MO, an expert is small ruminant health and reproduction. It will be informative, fun and a chance to meet other folks in the community. Learn the fundamentals of goat selection, breeding, reproduction, and more in this half-day workshop! Some classroom-style learning will be paired with hands-on practice with artificial insemination and ultrasounding.

This October, we celebrate Farm to School Month with an unforgettable night of fine dining and community at the Webster, Iowa City’s award-winning restaurant.

Each ticket includes a four-course plated dinner with wine pairings, featuring locally sourced ingredients contributed by Lucky Star Farm and other local farmers and bakers. This delight will be prepared by Sam Gelman and his team at The Webster.

Proceeds from the evening benefit Iowa Valley RC&D’s Value Chain Initiative, strengthening local food systems, supporting family farms, and ensuring fresh food reaches the children who need it most.

We have the honor of donating fresh duck eggs from our farm for this event. We are proud to be a part of the local food movement!
