Happy 2nd Day of Cheer! ✨

November is Native American Heritage Month, so today we had the honor of hosting Dawson Davenport-a member of Meskwaki Language Preservation he’s also an artist, author, educator, poet and public speaker. And proud owner of Indigenous Peoples Art Gallery and Cafe. He shared his life journey of trials and successes, and even showcased a piece from his clothing brand. Thank you Dawson for spending this informative and inspiring afternoon with us!

We also had the privilege of debuting a new piece of art work in our library from Reuben Ironhorse-Kent and enjoyed a video conversation.

With recent changes to SNAP benefits, many families in our community are struggling to make ends meet, so Walden residents and staff collected over 1️⃣2️⃣7️⃣ pounds of food donations for CommUnity Crisis Services
