The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.

It's Administrative Professionals Day! 🎉

We have 25 staff members on our Patient Access team that cover 10 different departments across our organization, including our outside clinics! They are cross trained in multiple areas, supporting many different departments in our organization.

In 2024, they took an approximate 118,700 phone calls, registered over 70,000 appointments, and scanned/imported 227,436 pages of medical records.

We are so THANKFUL for every one of you!

We are so pleased to announce that the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation has received a grant from the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation to support our Summer Meal Program starting in June for the IFA School District! These grab-and-go style meals for students from Iowa Falls and Alden Schools will provide both breakfast and lunch options this summer and we are so excited to get started!

With the assistance of the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation, Ackley Medical Center was recently able to purchase an EKG machine through a grant provided by the Ackley Community Foundation. This allows providers to detect irregularities, such as arrhythmias or signs of heart disease and cardiac distress, which might not be visible through routine physical exams alone.

Patty Uhlenhopp, Ackey Medical Center Clinic Coordinator said, “This new EKG machine plays a key role in enhancing the services we provide to our patients. Early diagnosis is critical when it comes to heart health. At Ackley Medical Center, we are committed to your health, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the best possible care.”
