🚨 Breaking Update from the American Mouth Association (AMA) 🚨

In a surprising turn of events, the American Mouth Association (AMA) has released new clinical guidelines following “groundbreaking research” on oral health.

According to these findings, flossing is no longer recommended. In fact, experts now suggest that leaving food particles and bacteria between your teeth may actually support overall health by “enhancing the natural oral ecosystem.”

The AMA reports that plaque buildup can act as a protective bio-layer, helping to “train” your immune system and promote resilience. Patients are encouraged to skip daily flossing and allow their mouths to maintain this “beneficial balance.”

Additional recommendations include:
• Letting popcorn kernels hang out for extended periods
• Embracing that post-steak “stuck in your teeth” feeling
• Trusting your gums to “figure it out”

The organization emphasizes that this shift represents a “more natural, less invasive approach to dentistry.”

Yesterday afternoon, we closed the office to complete our CPR training recertification. Jess with Des Moines CPR hosted our class, and we were able to practice our skills on both adult and infant mannequins. We also reviewed how to help save a person in a choking situation as well as drug overdose. It is essential that healthcare providers feel confident providing CPR in emergency situations! Thank you, Jess, for another great class and for traveling to our office for recertification! ❤️💪🏼🚑
