Service Dog Project Inc. Service Dog Project Inc. is a non-profit organization training Great Dane Service Dogs for mobility. Our second mission is to serve our local community.

SDP’s main mission is to breed, raise, train, and donate certified service dogs to people who experience difficulty with their balance or mobility. These partnerships often help to enhance the recipient’s quality of life as they attain greater independence. Preference is given to military veterans, first responders and their families. SDP’s farm is a destination for all ages — from teens doing community service, to seniors in search of a meaningful task and social interaction, to military veterans (many with PTSD) who enjoy feeling useful and connected while doing farm chores. Our Road Show project of dogs and trainers visiting senior centers provides much-needed smiles and comfort.

Barktoberfest was a blast. The weather was paw-fect and recipients and families had a doggone good time with their service dogs and pets. What a Wiener Hot Dogs grilled up some delicious dogs. Big thanks to Spacious Skies Campground for hosting us. Thank you for all your donations to make it possible for Service Dog Project to donate these incredible dogs to people in need.

Acorn felt some holiday cheer this morning when he immersed himself in the beautiful Christmas displays set up by our friends at Wolf Hill Garden Center. Their store is a great place to practice navigating in tight spaces and tackling challenging staircases. Acorn also stopped by Bentley Warren Trucking, Inc, where he saw plenty of trucks getting weighed on their giant scale, as well as massive front-end loaders moving product. He was a very brave boy!
