National Nursing Home Week has come and gone once again. Our beautiful week started out w the Cutest Pet Contest, "How well do you know your residents?" trivia and Who's Who baby photo guessing game. Congratulations to Melissa Villenue winner of all 3 games! Wow!
Monday theme Pajama Day, ice cream parlor for the residents, coffee and danishes for the staff. Tuesday the fun continued w Hippie Day and Taco Tuesday.
Wednesday was the perfect day to have Superhero day including pizza from Mr T's for staff. Mrs Maloney's Pre K spent part of the morning w us and also participated in the fun of spirit week dressed in superhero costumes. See our page for photos!
Thursday was Nerd Day, residents enjoyed a large auction (free), staff was treated to subs from Super One. The main highlight of our day was Boujie Bevs on site! Residents and many staff were able to try a dirty soda for the first time. So delicious! We do recommend 10/10!
Friday's theme was sports day, staff and residents enjoyed burgers, hotdogs and polish sausage grilled and served by Rich Bekkala! So many memories, not enough room and many pictures lost in the process.
Thank you to all staff in Nursing Homes/LTC for your hardwork, your dedication and the love shown to your residents, on the good days and the bad days!

At the West Iron County High School Scholarship program on Wednesday night the Iron Area Health Foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to 3 West Iron County class of 2026 seniors. The 2026 IAHF scholarship recipients are Annika Johnson, who has been accepted to Bellin College where she will study Diagnostic Medical Sonography with an emphasis on Pediatric Echocardiography, Lilyanna DeSousa, who has been accepted to Northern Michigan University where she will study Elementary Education and Taylor Economy, who has been accepted to Northwest Wisconsin Technical College/ Bellin College where she will study Echocardiography/ Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a Cardiovascular Concentration. Congratulations to these 3 outstanding young ladies and all of the very deserving scholarship recipients. The scholarships you received last night were earned through hard work, commitment and dedication to academic learning and we as a community are very proud of all of you.
