I want to sincerely thank you for participating in this year's Festival of Trees at Somerby St. Vincent's. What an amazing event!
There were a couple of things I wanted to share with you. First of all, congratulations! You won "Best Tree" award for "There's a Mouse in the House." It was a real crowd pleaser!
Second and most importantly, we raised $1170 with the silent auction and attracted a last minute, anonymous donation to bring our total to $1,400 for Alzheimer's of Central Alabama. That money helps families right here in Jefferson and Shelby Counties who are struggling with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Additionally, you impacted our seniors here at Somerby. I had a resident confide that she had been depressed after Thanksgiving and just couldn't get excited about Christmas. However, the Festival lifted her spirits and she won a tree! I wish you could have seen her face when I delivered the tree to her apartment. She was so excited.
There were 24 trees donated and every tree had a bid! Together, we made a difference! I hope as we move into 2026, you'll consider participating again next year.
