As American Heart Month comes to a close, I want to thank everyone who followed along with us this February.
We shared a lot of data this month, but one number always stands out to me. Someone in the United States loses their life to cardiovascular disease every 34 seconds. That is why we do what we do at FC Safety.
It was great hearing from our longtime veterans over the last few weeks. Their stories about training and the importance of those "Golden Minutes" are a reminder that while the equipment gets better, the human element of being ready to act is what really saves lives.
Even though February is ending, heart health is not a once a year priority. If you did not get a chance to audit your AEDs and first aid equipment, or schedule a training session for your team this month, you can still make that a goal for March.
You can find all of the expert insights we shared this month on our blog and right here on our page. Let's keep the momentum going and continue building workplaces where everyone feels confident enough to be a lifesaver.

Emergencies don't wait for medical professionals.

Between the evolution of modern First Aid, CPR, and AED training, and the Good Samaritan laws that have been put in place to protect individuals trying to help in good faith, there is no excuse for not getting trained to save lives.

Reach out to FC Safety and get training set up.

One of the most common questions in First Aid, CPR, and AED training sessions: What's the difference between a Heart Attack, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest?

The Golden Minutes only matter if you can actually reach your AED in time.

In an emergency, every second spent searching for a device or running to another floor is a second lost. One of the most common mistakes we see is AEDs being treated like fire extinguishers—tucked away in a corner or hidden behind a desk where nobody can see them.

Our veterans at FC Safety always recommend the "three-minute rule." You should be able to get to your AED, bring it back to the person, and have it turned on within three minute of the collapse.

If your facility is large or has multiple levels, one device might not be enough to meet that window. Take a walk through your office today and time yourself. If you cannot make it there and back in under three minutes, it is time to rethink your placement.

Safety is not just about having the right gear. It is about making sure that gear is exactly where it needs to be when it matters most.

When a sudden cardiac arrest occurs, the clock starts immediately.

In our industry, we talk about the "Golden Minutes." These are the first few minutes after someone collapses where every second counts toward their chance of survival. If an AED is applied and CPR is started within this window, the outcome changes completely.

Dana, one of our longtime experts at FC Safety sat down to explain exactly why this timeframe is so critical and what it means for your workplace safety plan.

It is not just about having the equipment on the wall. It is about being ready to use it the moment it is needed.

Take a minute to watch this. It might be the most important thing you learn this American Heart Month.

Did you know this about fishing boats?

Is Dana's question too simple?

It's Heart Month. Now is the time to find out what you need to know.

If you turn on the news tomorrow, most women you see will probably be wearing red.

Why? Because cardiovascular issues are still the leading cause of death for women in the workplace, and there are things we can do to change that.

When we spread awareness, we can save lives. Wear red for National Wear Red Day and learn about they symptoms of cardiac issues and how to respond to them.

It's American Heart Month. We talk about heart health and emergency readiness every single day. But February gives us a dedicated time to focus as a community on the leading cause of death in the United States.

The goal this month is simple: move from awareness to action. Whether that means checking the batteries on your office AED or finally booking that CPR training you have been putting off, now is the time to start.

Keep an eye on our page throughout February for expert advice on building a culture of safety that actually saves lives.
