One of my favorite things about art is its ability to tell stories. As an author myself, I’ve always been drawn to different mediums of storytelling, and photography is no different. Jiatong Lu ( on IG) is another incredible Lyme warrior who uses her passion and creativity to document and amplify the stories of other members of the Lyme community. Her work beautifully and honestly captures the resilience, strength, and vulnerability of people with Lyme disease. Here are a few of my favorite photographs of hers. 📸

On November 20th, a number of Lyme leaders went to Washington D.C. for a streaming of The Quiet Epidemic, hosted by Senator Richard Blumenthal at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center. It was a powerful day of discussion and advocacy from members of the Lyme community whom I’m proud to call friends, including Lindsay Keys, Phyllis Rogers Bedford, Chris Meloni, Global Lyme Alliance, LymeLight Foundation, and many more. I wish I could have been there, but your work continues to make an incredible impact far and wide. Your dedication fuels my own efforts to champion our community. Here's the truth about healing chronic illness: everyone's journey is different. What works for me might not work for you, and vice versa, so my number one healing tip? Give yourself grace. Remain open minded and optimistic, and stay committed to your practice and progress. Rely on your community for support and trust that you're going to get through whatever it is you're going through. Swipe for a few of the mental (and physical) tips that helped me on my Lyme healing journey, and save for when you or someone you know needs a reminder. 💪

Lyme disease testing is confusing to say the least. Not all tests are created equal, and in fact, the majority of them aren't totally reliable. Your best bet is to work with a specialized lab and a Lyme literate medical doctor to make sure you receive accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment options tailored to your needs. Did you struggle with Lyme testing? I'd love to hear your experience. If you have questions, drop them in the comments and I'll try to answer as best I can.
