Dr. Sandy Colvard, ND, FABNO Dr. Colvard is now seeing patients at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute at UCI Health Why choose Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Physicians treat their patients, not their conditions. We focus on the cause of the illness, rather than only treating specific symptoms. We give the patient’s body what it requires to come back to a healthy state, removing any obstacle to healing while empowering each patient with the knowledge they need to restore the inherent vitality within. Naturopathic Physicians work with the p

atient to establish a treatment plan that will work with the patient’s lifestyle while, most importantly, restoring balance and well-being.

Many people avoid going to the doctor. In today’s world, it is easy to not find the time, money, or energy to put yourself and your healthcare at the top of the list. In fact, even those of us who are doctors put it off from time to time, as it is quite natural to […]

It's National Cancer Prevention Month!

For we wanted to answer some commonly asked questions about Naturopathic Oncology.

What is a FABNO?

A FABNO is a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology. In order to qualify for this designation, a FABNO must complete many hundreds of hours of work and have passed a rigorous board exam.

Because research, understanding, and treatments for cancer are constantly evolving, the FABNO title also indicates that each Fellow strives to stay abreast of the latest research and new conventional therapies, as well as the safety and efficacy of any natural/holistic/alternative treatments that are offered around the globe.

Why Naturopathic Oncology?

Naturopathic Doctors who are trained in integrative cancer care play an important role in the support of patients, from the newly diagnosed with cancer to survivorship (after treatment). They also provide mind/body support for the family and patient caregivers during the treatment process

Naturopathic Oncologists provide evidence-based guidance on the safe and effective use of natural/holistic therapies that can be combined with conventional treatments. Combining naturopathic treatments with conventional medicine supports the pursuit of the best possible outcome for each patient.

Please take Vit D3 - not D2. Get your Vitamin D3 levels up to between 50-80. I have been recommending 5,000 to 10,000 IU per day. Personally, I have been taking 10,000 IU per day since the end of March. I check my levels every 4 months

A growing amount of research is finding a link between vitamin D and COVID-19, leading some experts to believe the vitamin may be helpful in the fight against the virus.

Could it be mold? Good information.

MOLD!
Aspergillus (and there are many other toxic mold species) can cause all of the following:
-- Direct infection
-- Lowered Immunity (which can cause severe aggravation of or poor clearing of other infections)
-- Internal Poisonings from Volatile Organic Compounds
-- Asthma
-- Allergy (of multiple types - over 25 allergens have been reported from A. fumigatus alone) *this is why a comprehensive work up is necessary including mycotoxin testing, tests for the various allergic responses, immune function and more are critical for diagnosis. Remediation, removal and air quality enhancement of course are imperative as well.
