Yoga with Rosalind

Yoga with Rosalind RYT200&RPYS85. Teaching in Irvine, CA at the moment. It's been an amazing journey for myself, and I wanted to be able to pass it on.

I began practicing yoga because I was constantly stressed out with my job and wanted to find something to balance my work life. After trying yoga for a couple of months, I found it to be very calming and started to notice all the improvements on myself, mentally and physically. I became really draw to yoga that I started to practice it daily and eventually completed the 200-hour teacher training in 2016. I want to provide people the opportunity to experience the benefits of yoga, to stay well and healthy, and to find the balance in their busy life.

As a yoga teacher, especially with a prenatal yoga certification, I expected myself to be a strong pregger. I thought I would still have a pretty strong practice going on throughout my pregnancy, so I was devastated in my first trimester when I was nauseated all day and didn’t feel like doing anything. I dropped my yoga practice completely, I wasn’t working out, I wasn’t doing anything. It was killing me.
The one thing that kept me alive throughout that first few months was teaching. I would wake up in the late morning, eat a little, take a 3-4 hour nap, and then get ready to go teach. You would have taught that I wouldn’t feel good enough to teach, but actually, teaching was the only thing that makes me feel like a normal human being. I feel so much better whenever I get to teach. It was the only thing that I look forward to every single day. So here’s to all my students: Thank you for being there and giving me the opportunity to teach during my first trimester. You have no idea how much you helped me through that first three months! Sending you all my love and appreciation.

親愛的大家,
我因為懷孕的關係. 決定忍痛割捨UFC的課. 雖然大家都很好心地跟我說沒辦法示範的動作可以用講的. 不過我覺得人多的時候這樣還是會影響到一些新學員的權益. 所以UFC的正課只教到這個月底哦. 市政府租借教室那邊的課預計會教到... 媽媽我動不了為止. 哈哈哈. 大家加油哦!看到孕婦這麼賣命有沒有想要更認真好好運動?隨時歡迎你來挑戰孕婦的體力 XD

這是我媽媽. 她曾經不停歇的練過10年的瑜伽. 後來. 她因為背痛無法忍受. 被迫停止練習. 連接而來的是腰椎椎間盤凸出和頸椎走位壓迫到神經而導致的無止盡的疼痛.

我一直都不懂, 10年瑜珈的練習怎麼會讓她到後期還有這些問題. 直到我有天無意的秀給她一個頭倒立的照片. 他看著圖說:“這個我知道. 就靠著牆跳嘛!以前我們都跳過啊!”

頭倒立. 也就是頭貼在地上的倒立. 是絕對不能跳的... 因為頭貼在地上. 只要一跳/一踢. 所有的重量和衝擊就會直接來到頸部. 跳久了. 第一個受傷的就是頸椎... 我才跟我媽解釋完這個道理. 他就說:真的假的?!難怪那個誰也跟我一樣的症狀. 我們以前都一起上課的!

我聽了真的很無言, 也很心疼. 10年的堅持. 換來的居然是這樣的傷害... 再次提醒大家. 不管學什麼真的都要小心. 找老師不一定要一直死心踏地跟著同一個. 要多看多問多比較. 有疑慮的時候也可以要求看老師的證照. 這是保護自己, 不要不好意思!學費高的老師不一定是最好. 但是學費超便宜的你自己就要有警覺了. 時時相信自己的直覺和自己身體的感受. 老師不一定都是對的.

瑜伽可以很美好... 如果你用對方式. 跟對老師.
千萬不要像我媽一樣冤枉的受苦. 真的不值得.
