Let's hear it for Sally, Resident Council President and Resident Ambassador at Atria El Camino Gardens! Not only is she a wonderful neighbor and leader, but she also keeps the community's courtyard looking beautiful with her love of gardening.

Her green thumb doesn't stop there. Her apartment is lush with plants of all varieties.

Sally says, “The residents and staff here are number one. I love the food, activities and my apartment. Our transportation, housekeeping and maintenance are the best!"

We took a bite out of the Big Apple at our Taste of Manhattan culinary event! 🍎🗽🚕

We enjoyed cups of deli chicken soup, corned beef sandwiches with slaw on rye, a side of Waldorf salad and for dessert, a classic black and white cookie!

To top it off, we watched the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces, a classic rom-com set in the city starring Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

"The Styrofoam Blues' never sounded so good!🎶

The resident-led Sustainability Committee at Atria at the Arboretum turned recycling education into a show-stopping performance! Along with a reminder of what materials can be recycled, the residents sang “The Styrofoam Blues” – a soulful reminder that clean Styrofoam can now be turned in at a station on every floor. From there it will be taken to a specialized drop-off location and reused.

From catchy lyrics to community action, these eco-champions are proving that going green can be fun, musical and full of heart. 💚

Celebrating Earth Day in Life Guidance at Golden Creek was just beautiful! Mother Nature herself was hard at work giving us the most amazing Southern California weather! 75 and sunny, such a great way to celebrate Earth Day. We enjoyed our fresh lemonade and our "dirt" pudding made in our kitchen by our own Chef Juan! Singing to the Beach Boys, reading poetry and creating beautiful edible bird houses, we can honestly say the afternoon was perfect!

Absolutely lovely day for a Tea Party - our Life Guidance residents enjoyed croissant sandwiches, macaroons, mini eclairs, lemon cookies, tomato and mozzarella skewers all while enjoying our beautiful courtyard. Bridgerton soundtrack playing in the background accompanied with laughter and storytelling, the highlight of the afternoon was our gentleman joining in the fun and dazzling the ladies!

For more than 15 years, Eileen has dedicated her life to caring for others, but her journey didn’t begin in a classroom or a training program. It began at home. “My journey started by taking care of my mom and dad. That’s where I discovered my love for caregiving – and my gift for it.”

From supporting children with special needs to working with older adults with dementia, she spent her career standing beside those who needed support the most.

“I like to think that I’m walking alongside my seniors during the most important chapter in their lives," she shares of her role as a Community Health Aide at Atria Park of Lynbrook. "Every day I strive to make a difference, to bring a smile, to create comfort and to help make their golden years truly feel golden."

For Eileen, it’s about giving each resident personal attention – taking the time to talk, listen and bond. To make someone feel seen. “I hope to inspire others to become caregivers. This work comes from the heart."

"She is one of the pillars of our Memory Care team. A steady, compassionate presence who reminds us that the most powerful part of dementia care is human connection. We are truly fortunate to have her," shares Dorota, the community's Life Guidance Director.

Our residents sure do! And they share their love of reading with students, family members and each other.

"Atria Bethlehem helped residents share their love of reading with the youngsters," shares the family member of resident Sal, who was one of the volunteer readers to read at a local elementary school. "We are so proud of Sal, and we are so appreciative that you helped bring smiles to the residents and the children!"

From Cat in the Hat antics to grandparents reading with their grandchildren, it's clear books are beloved by all ages! 📚

Our Life Guidance residents took over our local In n Out for lunch today! It was an absolutely beautiful day for our outing, and we had the best day ever! The men's group at Atria Maplewood Place found a great way to give back. 🐾

After a trip to the hardware store, they got to work building dog beds from PVC pipe. The guys jumped right in – measuring, cutting pipe, putting the frames together and screwing down the fabric. They had a great time using tools and showing off their skills.

Lots of teamwork, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of pride in a job well done. Days like this remind us that experience never fades – it just waits for the right project. 💙

"When I moved into my wonderful apartment at Atria Bell Court Gardens, I expected a life free from worry about personal safety, shopping, cooking and the nightly kitchen cleanup," shares resident Barbara. "I got that and so much more!"

Barbara's fellow residents recently took a trip to visit her art studio. They shared lunch, talked about Barbara's art and learned about her life as an artist. Her journey is truly incredible!

Barbara adds, "I did not expect to get a whole new group of kind and supportive friends, well-traveled dinner party conversationalists, and so many smart and art-loving people with my kind of sense of humor."

Our residents and staff came together to celebrate a joyful and heartwarming Easter filled with smiles, laughter, and beautiful moments. The afternoon was made even more special with the soothing harp melodies by Sonia Olivas, creating a peaceful and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Life Guidance at Golden Creek creates some of the most beautiful art work, and we felt it time to showcase the talent and team work that the residents have, all guided and created by the LGD and executed by the LGPS with masterful creativity, we have our Tinga Tinga piece, Tinga Tinga is a vibrant Tanzanian painting style originating in the late 1960s, we had our residents use pencils to create the animals, then carefully placed on a painted canvas, again all done together with style and grace. "Wrapper Collage", colored, painted and glued in any order that they wanted, a 3-D Butterfly masterpiece, choosing specifically where the butterflies should be placed and finally, our pressed flowers on painted canvas ...... with our pleasure, please enjoy!
