Come flow with Andrea—one of our longest-standing teachers at Yoga Shakti!🤍

Andrea began her Iyengar yoga journey in 2002 as a way to find calm and balance while working in a high-stress corporate environment. Over time, she not only experienced the physical benefits of yoga but also its powerful effects on the mind. She became a certified teacher in 2010 and completed her 500-hour training in 2012.

Andrea is passionate about sharing yoga with students of all ages and abilities, and she especially loves teaching prenatal yoga—a passion inspired by her own transformative experience during pregnancy. She’s also brought yoga to the next generation through kids classes.

Andrea brings heart, knowledge, and a nurturing energy to every class. Come experience her joyful and grounded approach to yoga!

Dana has been practicing yoga since 2010, and has been teaching yoga since she graduated from Yoga Shakti’s 200 hour teacher training program in 2017. Shortly after, she completed the meditation course, 500 hour, and Shakti teacher trainings’ with the studio. Dana is a huge advocate of being a lifelong learner and is always striving to obtain more knowledge to share with her students and evolve as an individual.

She has taught a wide variety of classes and levels from restore to advanced and feels every style has its benefits. Dana loves to uniquely blend varying styles by bringing the practitioner to a meditative flow state. She is inspired by the transformation that occurs with remaining in the present moment and calming the nervous system as she has experienced this in her life.

In 2023, Dana went on a spiritual pilgrimage to India and fell in love with Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion and Kirtan. Upon returning from India, she has started playing the harmonium, learned to play the mridanga (drum), and has continued her lifelong passion for singing. Dana has taken several Kirtan workshops with world renowned Govind Das. Through music she feels she is able to connect to something greater than herself and loves to share this with others.

In her full time career, Dana works as a mild/moderate special education teacher in Santa Ana, with a Masters Degree in Special Education. She has a passion for bringing yoga, breathwork, gardening, and meditation to underserved youth. Her favorite way to do this is through her “Mindfulness and Healthy Living” summer enrichment program. Dana recently completed 100 hours of yoga therapy for youth training where she learned strategies to support youth, especially those with unique needs through yogic practices. In her free time, she loves to travel and connect to nature through hiking, paddle boarding, camping, and backpacking.

Adi is a certified yoga and Pilates teacher with a rich background as a former dancer and dance teacher, bringing a unique and creative perspective to her classes. Additionally, Adi is a skilled Thai massage therapist, offering a holistic approach to well-being. Adi’s genuine enthusiasm for yoga and Pilates and their boundless possibilities shine through in every class.
