I grew up on the east coast, have lived in Korea for 4 years, and did my undergrad in New Zealand, so you could definitely say that I love to travel! I've always had a fascination for the human body and how it works. I used to ask my parents endless questions about food, like what do bananas do inside your body? Why aren't cookies good for you? When I was a high schooler, our whole family was unde

r chiropractic care. The doctor who we went to became my role model. She was tall, smart and beautiful and I wanted to be just like her. She taught me so many things, like the benefits of omega3's and the dangers of sugars. This is where I really started to learn what happens inside the body and that it’s not a mystery, you can actually figure out how it works! From there, the rest is history. I did my undergrad in chemistry, and went on to study chiropractic in California. There are many techniques in chiropractic, but the main philosophy is that our bodies can heal from the inside out. My specialty as a chiropractor is to identify the obstacles for each individual, and to help fix those issues! For some people, that looks like focusing on posture. For other people, we have to start by supporting their liver or digestion. One of my favorite parts of being a chiropractor is the challenge of learning more about the body. I love to take on tricky or unusual cases that push me to hit the books so that I can help even more people. This post is for me more than anything. It’s too long, and unless you’re into yoga, it’s probably boring. But to me, it’s super cool.

I usually edit these videos to get the best and deepest expression of the pose. But today I edited to get the motion clips. When I do yoga, It’s easier for me to find the pose, then settle into it to make it “better.” But this edit captures the movement between the poses. That part can be much harder to make smooth and flowy.

I love how there is always something to work on each day. These days I’m working on:
-back bending
-Leaning forward and down in balance poses, like airplane to standing splits or dancer to bound half moon
-handstands!! I figured out this week that the more forward I look, the less likely I am to fall backwards. Yay haha. I know it looks like I put the same handstand clip like, 4 times. It’s just me documenting my own progress cuz I think it’s cool. One of them shows me losing my balance and recovering it for the first time ever 🤩😂
-lots of other small things.

But seriously. Our bodies are amazing. Moving in strong ways is so empowering.

If you’re someone who loves moving your body in strong ways, but pays for it later with back pain, HMU! It’s fixable. ✌🏻

Yoga buddies are the best! Yoga can be a very individualistic sport, but I love making connections with the people in class.

I literally try out different ice breakers, since there’s no obvious platform to get to chatting with people in yoga. So far, the best I have is, “hi!” 😂

If anyone has good yoga friends pick up lines, don’t gate keep! Give them to me 🙌🏻
