Sickle cell disease causes red blood cells to form a “C” or sickle shape, making it harder for them to carry oxygen and flow through the body.

This can lead to serious health challenges — but with early diagnosis, proper care and community support, people with sickle cell disease can live longer, healthier lives.

This National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we encourage you to learn more, share resources and help raise awareness in your community.

The Mansfield Senior Center hosted a vibrant celebration for National Senior Citizens Day, bringing older adults together for a day of community, connection and fun!

We were honored to join the festivities, share valuable health and wellness resources to support active, healthy living, and even contribute a special door prize to make the day extra memorable.

The event was a huge success with strong attendance, live music and a delicious lunch provided by the center. What a wonderful way to celebrate our seniors! 🥳

We were thrilled to host a special baby shower for families from the Fiesta and Presidio Palms residences.

✨ Parents received helpful tips on breastfeeding, bottle feeding and nutrition from our amazing partners at WIC.
✨ Families went home with diapers, wipes and other essentials to support their little ones.
✨ And of course — lots of fun, connection and celebration!

The MolinaCares Accord, together with Molina Healthcare of Texas and the American Heart Association, donated a blood pressure testing station to Irving Cares. The station will be permanently installed and available for their community members to access during regular operating hours. The installation will include resources and information on cardiovascular health and how to live healthier lives.

Funding for this station installation is part of the $100,000 grant from The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Texas. The grant supports the placement of 20 table-top blood pressure stations at highly trafficked locations in Greater Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Laredo, El Paso, Tyler, Hidalgo County and Bexar County.

We had a great time at several back-to-school giveaway events across Texas, teaming up with MD Kids Pediatrics and Clinicas Mi Doctor to support local families as they gear up for another successful school year.

As part of the Healthy Minds, Healthy Starts initiative, families received:

✅ Access to important health care resources

Molina Healthcare of Texas is proud to support the incredible work of the SLEW Cancer Wellness Center with the donation of a new blood pressure machine.

The center provides free aftercare and support services to women who qualify financially — improving the lives of uninsured, underinsured and low-income women recovering from or undergoing cancer treatment.

Beyond health services, SLEW helps women overcome everyday challenges like limited mobility, transportation barriers and financial strain, ensuring they get the care and support they deserve.

We’re honored to stand with SLEW in empowering women on their journey to healing.

From free vision screenings to tips for keeping eyes healthy, participants learned the importance of regular checkups—while also enjoying painting, socializing and discovering local resources.

As part of our ongoing back-to-school efforts across Texas, we proudly partnered with Cross Church to support families in Cameron County and surrounding areas.

🎯 Kids enjoyed exciting games, tasty snacks and a chance to win raffle prizes.
🎒 Vendors provided free school supplies to help students start the year ready to succeed.
