My #4 immune health tip: supplements
I am only going to share with you what I use for supplementation. I am NOT a doctor and I will NOT tell you what to use. I CANNOT diagnose, treat, or promise a cure. What I am sharing is what I have found to be beneficial to my health. If you are under the care of a physician, before you begin any new supplements, I suggest that you talk to your health care professional first.
I shared in my last post about how I believe that food is foundational to a strong immune system (note, however, that my diet isn’t perfect every day!) and the soil our produce comes from is often depleted, so some of our foods are not as nutritious as they used to be. Not to mention, we live in a toxic world with pollutions, chemicals in our food/air/water, and then there’s stress!
👉🏻Adaily multivitamin/mineral is essential to supplement my whole foods diet. I take Master Formula by Young Living.
👉🏻Vitamin C is such a great vitamin with sooo many benefits! It’s very well-studied and it’s amazing and too often overlooked. I encourage you to do some research on Vitamin C. If too much Vitamin C is taken, loose bowels can occur. It is a water-soluble vitamin so space out when you take it to increase absorption and avoid your body eliminating the extra.
👉🏻Vitamin D3 supplement. It’s best absorbed when combined with Vitamin K2. Ideally, everyone should have their Vitamin D levels checked by their doctor to know where they are before beginning supplementation as it’s a fat-soluble vitamin and in excessive levels, can get to be too much.
👉🏻A good Probiotic is very beneficial!! Sixty (60%) of our immune system is found in our gut! Did you realize that? So, to have a healthy immune system, we need a healthy gut.
Other great immune support supplements include selenium, zinc, turmeric, garlic, echinacea, colloidal silver, olive leaf, and oregano.
In addition, I use a host of essential oils both to support a strong immune system and to help in times of extra stress on my body. I love Thieves, RC, Exodus II, Lemon, Frankincense, Raven, Idaho Balsam Fir, and many others. Young Living—the only essential oils that I use and recommend—has at least 200 different oils, and there’s no way I could possibly list them all that I love and use here! But, trust me that they’re used in my home daily: topically, aromatically, and internally. I’m using a lot of Thieves these days.
I believe every human being needs to have informed consent when it comes to what goes into and onto your body. I encourage you to do your own research on what supplements you take. Ask your doctor, or other health care professional, Google, research, use www.pubmed.gov for published research studies. Take the time to find out how you can best add to your diet whatever supplementation you and your loved ones might need to stay healthy and strong.
