Let’s talk about FIBER.
Benefits of Fiber:
* Lowers cholesterol levels
* Reduces Cortisol (the main stress hormone)
* Stabilizes insulin & blood sugar levels
* Lowers bad estrogen
* Helps with detoxification & weight loss

Fiber reduces the risk of:
* Heart disease
* Type 2 diabetes
* Diverticular disease
* Constipation
* Colon cancer
* Breast cancer

Most Americans only consume 10-15 grams of fiber per day.

IDEAL DAILY FIBER INTAKE: 60 grams per day. (RDA recommendation is too low)

WORK UP SLOWLY!

The health benefit of plant based diet is well known but one of the most common question about going plant based is “how do you get your protein?”

Many people fear deficiency of protein by going plant based. A retrospective review by Mayo Clinic showed vegans get sufficient proteins and doesn’t lack any specific amino acids. In fact, all plants contain all 9 essential amino acids. Also, legumes are one of the best source of protein, fiber and super nutrients.

Advantage of plant based protein: it doesn’t come with all the baggage of proteins from animal products:
- Saturated fat
- Cholesterol
- Increase IGF-1 (increase risk of cancer)
- TMAO (increase inflammation and associated with heart disease)
- Heme iron (damage cells and DNA)

Also, only plants contain FIBER, one of the most important nutrients.
