Hello everyone. Today I was planning on something inspirational and encouraging, but my mind keeps going to the flood event in Texas.

My heart is heavy, and my prayers go out to all the families who lost a loved one. As I usually do during difficult times, I reflect on God’s word and try to make sense out of what I am seeing.

The scripture that immediately came to mind is a reminder to make sure we are using every day to be, and do, what God calls us to.

John 9:4 "As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work."

Jesus is saying in this passage to be diligent in the calling God has given us because there will come a day when we will no longer have a chance to live out our purpose.

This passage hit me hard because we never know what the day will bring. We assume we will have ample time to do whatever we have planned, yet that is not always the case.

I encourage each of us to press into Jesus and find our purpose, live it every day, and help bring others to His saving grace.

Pray for those who are going through difficult situations and be a help to those in times of trouble.
