The cold caught up to us down south!! 🥶
You would think I’d be used to it by now, being a Winter baby ❄️ and that Jersey would have prepared me. But the truth is I’m over the cold! I much prefer heat and sun any day.

Nonetheless, I’ll step out into it, meditate in it and even finish a hot shower with cold every time. I’m just grateful I don’t have to stay or work in it.

Today’s lessons:
Play more.
Do the damn thing.
Trust the process.

Be safe & stay warm beloveds.

Here are some foods that have been calling me back into my body and its need for nourishment & care.
……

Those who know me know food has been a meaningful part of my life ever since I changed my eating habits over 20 years ago.

Grief shifted that relationship in ways I didn’t expect.
There were seasons when my energy was low and my body felt disconnected, and nourishment became something I moved through instead of something I received.

Coming back to food has been an act of love 💕 & listening.

I’ve been eating nutrient-dense meals again…
Eating slowly, mindfully
and letting my body feel what it’s being given.

If your relationship with food has changed through grief, stress, or exhaustion, you’re not alone.

This is an invitation to meet yourself with care, without judgment, without pressure.

…allow nourishment to become a form of support again.

One gentle, mindful choice at a time. 💛

We are a homeschooling family, and grief has reshaped how our days unfold.
Some days are spacious and child-led.
Other days include projects, curiosity, and hands-on learning.

All of it counts.

Living closer to my mother now has added another layer our son gets to experience.… time together.

Stories shared across generations.
A slower rhythm that reminds us we don’t carry everything alone.

Homeschooling in grief isn’t about doing more.
It’s about staying present, honoring capacity, and letting learning happen in ways that feel human.

This is what it looks like for us right now.
Imperfect. Intentional. Rooted in connection.

Grief changes how we live.
Mindfulness helps us stay present with it without disappearing inside it.

It requires care, presence, and attention.
Softness, nutrition, breath, rest.
It needs safety, space, awareness.
It needs you to tend to it not only with feeling and tears but with Self Love 💛🙏🏽

Chronic stress and grief change intimacy, emotionally and physically. For many couples, especially after 40, desire shifts as the nervous system and hormones carry more than words can explain.

Gentleness, patience, and honest conversations are vital for growing through grief rather than growing apart.

My husband and I are choosing small wellness rituals to support our bodies and our connection. Today is Day 1 of 5. We have committed to drinking okra water once a month.

Here’s how to make the okra water if you want to join us:

Cut fresh okra, soak it overnight in spring water in a glass jar, and leave it in the fridge. In the morning, strain it, add a little lime, and drink it first thing to gently wake up the body and metabolism.

For those who’ve been here through the seasons, thank you❣️

This work has always been about listening to the body and staying in relationship with self, especially when life asks more than we expected.

What I share here comes from lived practice, not arrival.
From staying present when understanding comes slowly.

Aunty is helping me understand soul agreements through her work. Looking forward to getting her new book. ☺️

………..

If you’re newer, welcome. 🙏🏽
If you’ve been walking alongside me for years, I’m grateful for your steadiness.
