I created this nook to feel safe enough to be and create.

Safe enough to let my shoulders release.
Safe enough to move without performance.
Safe enough to exhale with out anticipation or expectation.

Safe enough to remember the part of me that existed before survival became the priority.

When I step into this space, all else falls to the wayside..

I listen inward.
I meet myself where I am.
I focus on what I need in that given moment.

It is…
My return.
A quiet yes to myself.

✨ A sacred space is where the body feels safe enough to move, breathe, and remember itself.

If you’re learning how to come back to your body gently, you’re not alone.

I’ve grieved absence….
And I’m learning how to hold presence.

My healing work is teaching me grief isn’t only about what we lose,

it’s also about how deeply we learn to love while we still can.

What quiet wounds have you been carrying?
What love are you holding close to your heart?

Tell me about it in the comments ❤️‍🩹👇🏽

Some nights I didn’t even make it to my bed.
I’d fall asleep on the couch, wrapped in my coziest blanket, exhausted from holding the weight of my grief yet unable to rest.

Sleep wasn’t peaceful — it was something my body collapsed into.

No one tells you how loud the nights get after loss… how your mind keeps replaying what your heart can’t make sense of. Rest felt impossible until I started getting intentional about my nights, my breath, my body, my energy.

Something as simple as one hand gently pressing on my heart, my other hand softly on my belly… became my way of whispering to myself:

“I am here. I am safe. I can soften.”

If you’re grieving and sleep feels far away, you’re not alone.

Your body is trying its best to protect you.
And with gentleness, your nights can slowly become softer again.

Comment soft and I’ll send you a link to my free Self Care Guide for Grieving Hearts ❤️‍🩹

I took my 7-year-old son to the Thomas & Vivian Wong Honor Tower in Greenville, SC… We walked up 128 steps and standing at the top. The view hit me a little different.

Most people see a beautiful view. And yes it is a nice panorama.

But this tower was built right between what used to be two segregated parks — Mayberry Park for Black families and Meadowbrook Park for white families.
Two parks side by side, divided by race… and now, all these years later, my son and I can climb these stairs, breathe the same air, and look out over one shared space called Unity Park.

On the way up, I thought about how our bodies still carry the stories our ancestors survived. I thought about how healing it is to stand where division once lived — and feel our children move through it with so much freedom today.

We talked about history.
We talked about gratitude.
We talked about courage.

And honestly… it felt like one of those quiet moments where grief, joy, and legacy sit together.

Although we are new to the region, I could appreciate this space and the elder, Mary Frances Duckett, an activist, and keeper of this history. She fought so our children could stand on this land with freedom, safety, and dignity. May she rest in power. And may we rise in strength.

Peace Beloved 💞

Your broken heart doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means you’re human.

It means something sacred shifted, and your body is trying to learn a world it never asked for.

Grief shows up in your breath, your sleep, your hips, your chest, your mood…

not because you’re weak, but because your nervous system is protecting you in the only language it knows.

Softening back into yourself takes time.
It takes breath.

It takes moments of stillness you don’t have to earn.
And it takes remembering that even here — even in the ache ….

….you’re still whole.

If your heart is heavy today, I’m holding space with you.

💜 You’re not alone in this. Check my stories for a sneak peak into what’s coming.. 😘

My practice today was not fancy—simply gentle stretches, slow breathing, and enough space to listen to what’s really going on particularly in my side body.

If you’ve been moving fast, holding too much, or feeling tight in more ways than one… here’s your to pause. If you haven’t been moving much lately, this practice is perfect for you…To breathe. To move gently. To come back home to yourself. Support your knees with a rolled mat, towel or pillow if you need to. 💞

Slow down with me. Move with me. Your nervous system will thank you.
