Don’t’ forget that early bird rate for Module 2 on April 18-21 in Portland, OR ends February 18.

And there’s still time to sign up for Module 1 on March 7-10 in Irvington, NY. (Modules 1 and 2 can be taken without any prerequisites)

In the medical classic, Ling Shu, Chapter 1 describes the nature of acupuncture points and their response to needling. QiBo states that one should continue needling until qi is reached; otherwise, the treatment will be ineffective. Through the Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture Program, we will explore and unravel the mysteries of elliciting the de qi response.

Dr. Poney Chiang took a deep dive into the ancient classics to examine the characteristics of acupuncture points. He delved into the Huang Di Nei Jing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic), the Jia Yi Jing (Systematic Classic), the Suo Wen Jie Zi (Explaining Writings and Deconstructing Graphs, an authoritative dictionary on the etymology of Chinese characters) and the MaWangDui medical manuscripts. Then he compared standardized Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture point locations described in the text of Chinese Acupunpuncture & Moxibustion (C&M), and verified neuroanatomical targets using dissection-based studies and electrical stimulation of acupuncture points.

Whether your approach to acupuncture is from a classical traditional perspective or a biomedical functional approach to needling, Dr. Poney Chiang bridges this divide between classical and biomedical acupuncture to create a synergistic and highly effectively approach to gaining successful clinical outcomes.

In this 3-part Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture Program, you will learn new approaches to treating common and complex conditions for the entire nervous system. Gain confidence in acupuncture's efficacy when applied with clinical precision to gain consistent, reproducible, and effective treatment results.

Days 1 & 2 of Module 3 covers common entrapment neuropathies seen in the clinic. Nerve entrapments such as carpal tunnel syndrome, radiculopathies, piriformis syndrome, and meralgia paresthetica are conditions for which acupuncture is helpful.

Personally, I have been struggling with carpal tunnel syndrome on my left hand which has been nagging me for four months due to over-work. Since my dominant hand is injured, I haven't been able to treat myself properly. Fortunately, I was able to get treated during class demonstration for carpal tunnel syndrome. Dr. Chiang discuss how to differentiate between median nerve entrapment sites. Now, I'm delighted that burning, tingling, and pain have significantly subsided after just one treatment.

We have upcoming workshops for acupuncturists in 2024 in New York and Portland, OR if you want to join us and learn about nerves neuro-modulation, and treatment strategies from a neurological acupuncture perspective.

Mother's Day for me is a day to celebrate the energy of the Divine Feminine. Women manifest a creative energy that transforms ourselves, our families, and our communities. It is the ability to appreciate the beauty of the universe and the strength to weather its changes, beyond fertility and biological creation.

I am taking a few days off work (offices are closed from May 11-16) to spend time with my daughter Clara as she wraps up her second year at Reed College.

Needless to say, it is an honor to be her mother. She has taught me so much about becoming a loving, caring, and nurturing healer. I am blessed to be the mother of a complex, evolving, and fiercely soulful daughter.

Happy Mother's Day to all women, friends, daughters, mothers, sisters, teachers, feminine badasses out there. You are my inspiration.

Yesssss, I'm back at work on Friday August 5th!!!!

It's hard to believe two and a half weeks have flown by. So many adventures and experiences to tell you about. I'm fully recharged and ready to see you in the office.

Thank you for the new friends I met during this break. I'm particularly grateful to Clare Frank , Jay, Randal, and Andre (the crew from Jetset Rehab Education and the wonderful PTs I've met in Phuket). I look forward to future collaborations.

As Clare Frank reminded me, "What you seek also seeks you" - a quote from Rumi

💫 Dao-Collective emerged a few years ago when I decided to host my colleagues who were teaching innovative topics in East Asian medicine.

🤯 My favorite part of running workshops is seeing the participants - some of whom have been in the field for ten to twenty years - have "aha" moments when they gain a fresh perspective that illuminates what they have been practicing in the field of
East Asian Medicine.

🧠 Dr. Poney Chiang Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture teaches a three-part Neuro-Meridian Acupuncture Program, which I believe is transformative to our understanding and practice of acupuncture. In 3 modules, he covers in the entire nervous system and it's relationship to our entire body- from CNS, ANS, and PNS.

Here it is! The podcast with the founders of , the fabulous Clare Frank , and myself - capturing the highlights of multiple conversations we shared over the past few days.

Normally I shy away from the limelight, but get me talking about neuro-orthopedic acupuncture and integrative care and it seems that gets me outside my comfort zone.

My vision is that physical therapists and acupuncturists can assess and evaluate patients in a collaborative way, and facilitate treatment care in a team model. But first, we need to create a dialogue and help navigate the confusing mix of therapeutic approaches that exist between each of our professions.

Many thanks and appreciation to Clare who encouraged me to speak up and share my perspective, creating an open and welcoming dialogue. Furthermore, I was among open-hearted and inquisitive physical therapists fascinated to learn about the important advancements in acupuncture. So take a listen if you have time.

In closing, I hope my colleagues who are specialists in neuro-orthopedics check our Clare Frank's classes through and consider jetsetting with for your next coned course. You'll have a blast 💥for sure!

A recent podcast conversation with Clare C. Frank and Dody Chang (doctor of acupuncture from New York) Dody Chang Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs hosted by JetSet Rehab Education at a course in Phuket, Thailand. What a privilege to have such rich discussion on neuromyofascial dysfunction and various integrative management strategies. Looking forward to further collaboration between physical therapy and acupuncture.

Offices will be closed from July 8-11 as I welcome my colleagues from across North America who will be learning Neuro-meridian acupuncture with Dr. Poney Chiang.

Dr. Chiang and I are committed to promulgating the Neuro-acupuncture curriculum so it becomes standard education for the next generation of acupuncturists. In this capacity, our profession can work on par with medical professionals.

Without abandoning the classical tradition and theory behind acupuncture, this approach bridges the gap between modern medicine and ancient classical theory. It is highly effective for pain conditions and improves our understanding of how to treat multiple conditions with efficacy and efficiency.
