What is chair One Fitness?
Chair One Fitness is a chair-based dance fitness program.

We cater to anyone who has complications with standing during a fitness regimen.

This includes senior citizens, people with balance deficits, chronic pain, injuries, disabilities, suffering from obesity, and more.

It is designed to keep individuals mobile and to ensure they remain progressive in daily function and/or recovery.

We deliver a fun, interactive workout that uplifts people while providing a total body workout.

It began with a feeling—loss, emptiness, and a future without direction. At 58, Michele Mattingly, a divorced schoolteacher climbing out of financial ruin, was searching for something that could lift her from sadness. On January 1, 2016, she made a bold decision: to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. The climb ended, but the journey had only begun.

With the year coming to an end, it is time to be thinking about those New Year's resolutions. Resolutions are easy to make, but hard to keep. Whether it's the cost of a gym or just lacking a workout buddy, life can usually get busy.

The Lied Irwin Public Library is here to change that! Thanks to a grant from the Shelby County Health Foundation, the library is offering a year long exercise program starting Jan. 3rd.

Exercise classes will be offered Tuesday evenings from 5-5:45pm and Saturday mornings 8:15-9am. Classes are free; all you need is a library card. Sign up is not necessary; come when you are able.

Merry Christmas from the Lied Irwin Public Library! May your days be cozy, your Christmas be joyful, and your time be filled with good books.
Please note: the library will be closed December 25 and 27. We will be open Dec. 30th from 3-6pm.

The Whos down in Irwin liked Christmas a lot at the Lied Irwin Public Library! The Grinch welcomed each who when they arrived in the morning. We had many activities that kept everyone busy: shrinky d**k Christmas Wish List ornaments, Grinch dice game, Grinch handprint, and a science experiment to make the Grinch's heart grow. Of course, we read the book, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss too.
It was a beautiful day for lunch and play time at the park. The librarian even joined in and played Shark and Minnows (the kids ran slower for her).
Our afternoon was filled with checking out books, coming up with a way to make the Grinch grin, and enjoying Grinch Punch, Christmas Cookies, and Grinch fruit kabobs during the movie.

The Grinch came down from Mount Crumpit one day,
To visit the Whos in Irwin, Iowa! City of Irwin, Iowa
He stopped at the Lied Irwin Public Library too,
To steal Christmas books (as the Grinch loves to do).
But instead of just mischief and holiday tricks,
He joined Grinchmas Day Camp for fun and some kicks!
