Essential nutrient for Brain Energy
Today’s lifestyle, which includes, sedentary living, sitting for extended periods of time with rounded shoulders and forward head carriage while working at computers and other media devices, lack of proper exercise, poor diet, deficiency in required nutrition, mental stress and lost spinal proprioception not only increases the biomechanical loads on our spines but also is the direct cause of Motion Deficiency Syndrome and lost spinal Proprioception. Nutrition is one of the three cornerstones of wellness and prevention. Our bodies need fresh fruits and vegetables along with fresh water, omega 3’s and probiotics for proper absorption. There is one other nutrient that science has recently deemed “the most important nutrient for the brain”. This essential nutrient is PROPRIOCEPTION and it is generated from the joints and surrounding soft tissues of our spines. Over 50% of our spinal cord is dedicated to carrying this essential nutrient to the Cerebellum or back most portion of our brains. Although the Cerebellum is only 10% of the entire mass of our brains it has over 50% of all of the neural connections. These proprioceptive signals have been proven to be the energy that charges our brains batteries. A spine that has optimum motion promotes elevated levels of proprioception which is proven to improve energy, concentration and focus while decreasing brain fog. It can also decrease anxiety/depression, elevate mood and promote a sense of well-being. Children also can suffer from Motion Deficiency Syndrome which may interfere with their learning pathways that could possibly lead to ADD and ADHD. This motion that is lost, which is so critical to elevating proprioception and brain energy is called “joint end play” and has no direct correlation with having back pain or not and can only be detected by a trained professional. That is why every person that is alive would benefit from some form of regular Chiropractic Adjustments.
