Artist Kannan M Krishnan's striking "Flamenco" is on display as our "Colors in Harmony" art exhibition continues.
"I have long felt a deep affinity for the music and dance of Flamenco. The music pulses with rhythmic dynamism, while the dancers embody a presence that is both commanding and vulnerable. For me, Flamenco also serves as a metaphor—a dialogue between freedom and discipline, spontaneity and form. In this painting, I have sought to capture that energy and tension through a palette of black and red, colors that evoke the intensity and spirit of this art form."

According to artist Joanne Factor, "We’ve again arrived, at this place which had always been comforting and home. But it’s changed and is now darker and turbulent. The sky in the distance portends more to come."

"Colors in Harmony," our mesmerizing art exhibition currently on display, features "Orcaverse" from JW Harrington.
"In my biomorphic paintings, carefully crafted, curvilinear forms interact in visually playful ways, sometimes portrayed against wildly gestural backgrounds. The forms are quite abstract, some seeming more animal-like, some more plant-like. Viewers are more likely to uncover (within themselves, really) meaning and interaction when the forms seem organic – but are sufficiently vaguely rendered to prevent ascribing characteristics of any particular species."

It was an incredible celebration at our art gala for “Colors In Harmony,” featuring works from both the University of Washington Retirement Association and Harmony of Colors (whose members have met every Saturday since 2009)! This invitational celebrates the vibrancy and richness of colors working in harmony together, and remains on display at University House Issaquah. Come visit!

We hope you were able to atttend our opening gala this week for our new art exhibition, "Colors in Harmony!"
From artist Sharon Frucci: "I use a variety of printmaking techniques to create “monoprints.” The third piece in my series “This & That.floral” includes layers of rolled ink and stenciled pattern behind paper lithographic images of a feather and weeds found on the sidewalk outside of my print studio, plus a house that I’ve used in many of my recent artworks. Color, pattern, and juxtaposition are more important to me than “story.”
