Part of pain recovery often involves learning how to connect with our inner world, learning how to reconnect with parts of our body that have become numb or isolated. Fight or flight often can still be present in our nervous systems, waiting for us to reset. This breathing technique is one tool to help center and ground us.

This guided breathing exercise is offered by Georgina Miranda, mountaineer, athlete, activist, and entrepreneur, in the context of sports. It is an excellent centering technique to use anytime.
