We can tend to feel disconnected, confused, frustrated and hopeless at different times in our lives and we often do this for way too long! We may damage our relationships and overall health along the way, resulting in lifelong impacts. My mission as a growth and personal development coach is to help you and others like you get through the stuck points in your life and realize your full self, creating a healthier you. Being a part of someone’s desired growth and change is one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had.
I do this by integrating a variety of theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices to help you identify your strengths and values and then develop a plan to put them into action. As a licensed counselor for the past several years, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with hundreds of people around their goals of achieving a healthy mindset and lifestyle. My clients tell me that they feel understood quickly in our sessions. Together, we are able to break down concepts, identify strategies, and create meaning in ways that make sense, allowing for greater self-awareness and clarity as we work towards what is most meaningful.
We are habitual beings, which means that the more we do anything, the better we get at that particular behavior and process. The more we complain, the better we get at it. The more we have difficult conversations, the better we get at them. And, conversely the more we avoid these, the better we get at avoiding and denying. In our work together, we will explore learnings from the Neuroscience field that will positively impact healthy lifestyle patterns. You may also discover how your past experiences have been limiting you in achieving your goals and experiencing what you most value.
Life-long Transformational Changes
My professional background includes relationship coaching/counseling, yoga for anxiety workshops, mindful relationships workshops, meditation practitioner and facilitator, and individual and family counseling. Additionally, I study Stoic philosophy and Buddhist psychology and philosophy and integrate these frameworks into my work with clients in ways that are helpful. Self-awareness and increased insight into our thoughts, feelings, and actions are integral in the growth and healthy change process. We all are “experts” into ourselves, but we often don’t feel like it. I can help you engage in practices that can help uncover parts of yourself that may be dormant or are undiscovered due to past trauma, non-exposure to certain growth-producing experiences and avoidance practices.
My years as a therapist allow for a unique dimension into our coaching process. We are complex beings made up in part of our history and our habits. We are often unaware of how these influence our present condition. I can help you work through internal and complex issues as necessary to help you move forward. My approach is not to put a “band-aid” on the problem and cheerlead you step-by-step on how to make it better. I want to help you make life-long impactful changes that allow you to “coach yourself” for the rest of your life. I will help you learn more about your brain from a neuroscience perspective. And, as a result, you will learn to be more comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Work/Life Balance
I have a special interest in working with high-tech minded individuals who struggle with creating work/life balance. Let’s face it, healthy relationships are easier for some of us to navigate and maintain than they are for others. But, all human beings need healthy, intimate connections with others to thrive. The art of relating can be tricky business. I’ve seen growth and increased skills in this area for many of my clients throughout the years. Mindset shifts, reprioritization, skill-building, and gaining insight into stuck patterns can help you grow into a more balanced self.
