You may have heard the FDA issued warning about RF Microneedling.  ALERT! This is not the TRADITIONAL microneedling we do at TLJ. So don’t get confused. 🤓

We are LOVING the combination of SkinPen (the most advanced technology) Microneedling and Rejuran Healing Essence & skin boosters!

But back to RF Microneedling...  Why have we never adopted this procedure at TLJ?  A few reasons:

1) The risk outweighs the reward.
We get the same tissue firming and tightening with less invasive methods in our practice.
2) Very little safety data /experience.
For us, there was not enough proof of safety.
3) We don’t follow fads.
4) Patients first.... always.

The FDA has been busy in the last month, just this week doing something long overdue: removing the black box warning on HRT (now known as MHT).

What does it really mean?

⁉️ HRT is perfectly save ⁉️
No... there are pros and cons to all prescription                      medication including HRT
⁉️ Women should feel comfortable with DIY HRT virtually ⁉️
No... that’s not medical care

What’s a black box warning anyway?

⁉️ It is the most serious warning from the FDA, indicating risk of serious, life-threatening or fatal effects
⁉️ Purpose is to draw attention to a drug’s risks that should carefully be weighed by healthcare providers and patients.
⁉️ It never had a true place with HRT

Does this change anything that we have done for over 25 years at TLJ? Managing menopause?

⁉️ No.  Dr J was trained in menopause management and HRT before the dreaded Women’s Health Initiative, where data was initially inaccurately interpreted, putting women in the back seat for some 20 years. In spite of further data analysis and updates, many providers remained afraid and untrained in menopause management

❣️We are passionate about menopause and HRT at TLJ
No fear. No hype. Just science and medicine.

❣️ Thankfully more providers are starting to get more training on menopause and women are able to talk about the best treatment options, weighing all benefits and risks.

❣️ Misinformation and hype will hopefully be less prevalent.

❣️ Women will get better educated on the true place for compounded options (including pellets) and understand they are in NO WAY safer than pharmaceutical grade treatments, and  can be more harmful, less beneficial.
