📣 Meet Our New Medical Directors! 🩺
We are excited to welcome Dr. Syed Tahsin Ahmed and Dr. Junaid Laheji as the newest members of our leadership team, serving as our Medical Directors!
Both Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Laheji bring exceptional clinical experience, compassionate care, and a shared commitment to enhancing the well-being of our residents.
Dr. Syed Tahsin Ahmed, DO, MBA, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with extensive experience in acute care, post-acute care, and hospital medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas. In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration, further strengthening his ability to integrate clinical expertise with healthcare leadership and management.
Dr. Ahmed has practiced in a variety of inpatient settings, including Baylor Scott & White, Medical City Arlington and John Peter Smith Hospital, where he developed expertise in complex medical management, multidisciplinary care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives. He also has significant experience in post-acute facilities, where he has managed transitions of care, coordinated rehabilitation plans, and worked to reduce hospital readmissions through proactive, patient-centered approaches. His clinical interests include acute care medicine, post-acute recovery, patient safety, and optimizing systems of care to improve outcomes for medically complex patients.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahmed enjoys trying new cuisines and traveling to experience different cultures. A native of Canada, his favorite sport is hockey. His favorite past time is skiing. He is also an avid wakeboarder and waterskier. Above all, he values spending quality time with his wife and their two children, a 3-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.
Dr. Laheji completed residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has over six years of experience as an acute care hospitalist, treating both acute and chronic medical conditions. He has worked in multiple nursing facilities and held hospital management roles, bringing both clinical expertise and leadership to patient care. Dr. Laheji is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care to residents and their families. Outside of medicine, he enjoys family time, sports, and hiking.
