Corey Earle, of Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences, lead a History of Cornell driving tour this morning! Corey is a wealth of information - we learned some fascinating facts! For instance, Cornell's first building, Morrill Hall, was built from the stone mined from Library Slope (AKA Libe Slope). Also, Ezra Cornell only had a second-grade education and made his fortune in the telegraph business before co-founding Cornell University.

Longview celebrated Independence Day 2025. There was a quick pivot to move the party inside when an impromptu tornado threat blew through South Hill. But it was all fun and tatoos once the party got rolling.

It was a big day at Longview for the community garden. We had some very special friends come today to arrange the garden beds, fill them with soil and dig holes for the fencing. There's still some more work to do but we're getting close to putting our plants in.

THANK YOU to Paul Carpenter of B27 Earthworks along with Paul Sr. and Jack and Gradyn Nash for their time and expertise making so many moving parts come together today.

Since its opening in 1974, Longview has grown to become one of the most trusted residential senior facilities in the area. Its designed to provide an active, enriching and healthful life for older adults who wish to live independently in a community setting.

With 100 independent living apartments, 60 assisted living and 32 enhanced assisted living rooms, plus 22 patio homes inclusive of two bedrooms, garage, patio, kitchen and more, there is something for everyone.

Residents of Longview enjoy the use of the greenhouse, library, auditorium, nature trails, a swimming pool, an exercise room plus much more. Amenities include dining, maintenance, housekeeping, snow removal and mowing services.

The unique intergenerational partnership with Ithaca College allows students and seniors to develop relationships on-site, seniors to take classes at IC and use of on-campus facilities, and many more perks.
