friends, it is with a heavy heart and a heart filled with gratitude that we are announcing the sun is setting on bramble.
☀️
since we opened our doors in October of 2014, it has been our utmost pleasure to serve you. bringing local herbs together with local people to create local, sustainable healthcare was a dream that we were able to fulfill for many years. thanks to your support!
🌿
bramble was also kept open all these years due to the tireless dedication and unpaid labor of our owners. when ciele, jen, darcie, and i (amanda) came together to start bramble, we so wanted there to be a community herbal hub that we donated our time and energy to making it happen. for years we proceeded in this way and were able to create something really special.
☀️
for the last few years, ciele and i have been holding it down with the amazing help of some incredible folks like pam, tori, jess, natalia & geraldine. thank you!
🌿
and thru the trials of the pandemic we realized that the sustainability we sought to provide for the community could not preserve if we were not also making bramble sustainable for ourselves. we sadly never found a way to be able to compensate ourselves for the work we put into bramble and because of that, after a pretty long run of intense volunteer work, we are having to transition away from bramble.
☀️
we still dream of bramble continuing on. we still believe that local sustainable herbal health care is a community need. if anyone is interested in buying bramble and finding a way for it to be both personally and community-sustaining, we would love to talk to you!
🌿
we will remain open for another month or so while sorting things out and hopefully much longer if we find new folks to buy this sweet little community herb shop!
☀️
no matter what happens after this sunset, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of bramble and we look forward to the sun rising on continued herbal community in ithaca
