Phased Reopen of FLXAR Underway
Dear FLX Athlete Retreat community,
It has been too long and we truly miss each and every one of you! We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and as such wanted to update you regarding our status at FLXAR.
A phased reopening is underway that is in compliance with NY State guidelines and our own clinical judgement.
At this time, ACUPUNCTURE with Mary Woods is accepting appointments at the following link: marywoodsacupuncture.com
The CHIROPRACTIC calendar is open for online booking now. (flxathleteretreat.com/book-services (https://www.flxathleteretreat.com/book-services) ) Appointments will begin the week of June 1st.
The MASSAGE calendar is open for online booking now. (flxathleteretreat.com/book-services (https://www.flxathleteretreat.com/book-services) ) Tentatively, (regarding childcare and state mandates) appointments will begin mid June.
Appointments are first come first serve, so we encourage you to book online as soon as possible or to contact your practitioner directly to get your name on the calendar. Please be patient with us as this is sure to be a time of schedule congestion as we all try to find our way during this strange time. You will notice there are less daily appointments available and more time between appointments to allow us to maintain a clean work environment and to keep you and ourselves as safe as possible. We are also limited by childcare availability, so you’ll notice fewer days available at the onset of our return.
Other important changes are as followed:
Both practitioners and clients are required to wear a mask in communal spaces. Mask and robe requirements vary by department, so your practitioner will tell you how to proceed once you enter their treatment space. If you forget a mask, we have some available for use during your treatment, but please try your best to remember your own. This will be strictly enforced.
Upon entering the space your temperature will be taken using a contactless forehead thermometer by your practitioner.
Allow at least 6 feet of distancing between you and any other client waiting in the waiting area. Efforts will be taken to minimize the number of people in the office at one time, but should you encounter another client, please put a respectful amount of space between you.
Sauna, Retail and Stretching area are closed until further notice to minimize surface contact. Let your practitioner know if there is a product you would like to order. Also note that the water cooler has been moved behind the desk. Ask a provider if you require water, but it is best to bring your own. We will not be able to fill personal water containers at this time, but will provide plastic cups.
Children and other companions are not permitted to accompany you to your appointments at this time. We recognize that this can be a hardship and we apologize for the inconvenience. If you receive a ride from someone we ask that they kindly wait in the car or leave the premises during your treatment. The exception here is if the patient is a minor, their parent or guardian must still accompany them to their treatment. Both guardian and patient must wear a mask.
We encourage you to use our contactless payment options. When you book online, please enter your credit card information to minimize contact at checkout. You will not be charged until you receive your treatment. Yes, we know this sounds silly as we do all the touching during our appointments, but money and money accessories are dirty and undergo a lot of exposure. You may still pay in cash, and will supply envelopes for you to put cash in if that is your desire method of payment so that we spend less time during the day handling money.
As always, we ask that if you are symptomatic AT ALL, you reschedule your appointment. You will not be charged a late reschedule fee during this time. Please try to use courtesy when deciding to cancel your appointment to allow your practitioner to call someone on their wait list. If you have been in contact with someone who has been symptomatic or has tested positive, you may not schedule until you are asymptomatic for 14 days. This includes immediate family members.
The staff at FLXAR will be exercising extra precaution when it comes to cleaning measures. However, even as we do our best to keep the space as sanitized as possible, this is a shared responsibility. Please hand sanitize upon entering and leaving the space. Do not touch your face. Do not remove your mask unless specifically instructed by your provider. If you are a member of the community who is high risk, please consider this before booking an appointment. We can try to make accommodations within reason and to the best of our ability. Ex) Immunocompromised/elderly patients can be scheduled first thing in the morning if they request.
Finally, we want to thank you all for your continued support. Many of you donated, pre purchased appointments and packages and sent us well wishes over the last few months. I will admit this has been a very scary time for us. As self employed people we live in a constant state of “what if the bottom drops out tomorrow??” Well, the bottom dropped out. And we’re still here. And we know that is because of all of you. We are unspeakably grateful to every one of you.
If you’re looking for more ways to protect yourself and your loved ones, check out the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) website.
Thank you so much for sticking with us. We look forward to supporting each other during these challenging times.
Dr. Sarah, Teri and Mary.
