Blue Sky Center for Learning is a non for profit agency that focuses on working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. Utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis on Skinner’s analysis of Verbal Behavior, we work with children in a 1:1 setting as well as in group instruction and social skills classes. Mission

We create a positive environment where individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities are empowered to achieve independence and success through programs that emphasize evidence-based practices. Facilitate independence and dignity for people with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities.

✨ Behavior Tip Tuesday! ✨

Today’s tip: Reinforce the behavior immediately! 💥

When a child shows the behavior you want to see (sharing, using kind words, following directions) respond right away. The quicker the reinforcement, the stronger the connection they’ll make between their action and your praise or reward! 💬👏

⏱️ Why it matters:�Kids learn best when the feedback is instant. Waiting too long can make it harder for them to understand what behavior earned the positive attention.

💡Try this:�Catch the behavior in the moment and say,�👉 “I love how you followed directions so quickly!” or�👉 “You shared your toy so nicely! Great job!”

Consistency + immediacy = stronger positive behaviors! 💪

✨ VBMAPP stands for: Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment & Placement Program

✨ It evaluates a child’s language and learning skills by comparing them to developmental milestones and helps professionals identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses to develop goals and monitor progress.

✨We run this functional assessment on all of our learners every 6 months!
