It’s the last day of September. It’s been wonderful to see so many people posting statistics and stories of childhood cancer. Those things need to be told—and heard.
Those things raise awareness of the toll that cancer takes on children—with 20% dying and nearly all of the survivors effected by long-time side effects of treatment—and the toll on families.
I miss my little girl. And I’m so sad that she spent half of her short life battling brain cancer and its complications. But she did it full on—powering through to get stronger and regain skills all the time. And with a huge heart full of love and compassion for others, while she was experiencing so much herself. I’ll never forget, as we sat in her hospital room—Mira hooked up to an IV pump and receiving highly toxic chemotherapy—and hearing a little one crying down the hall, her asking “Mommy, somebody help that baby?”
Please help me and all pediatric cancer families to help the babies. They and their families NEED us. So much.

I want every month to be Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Until children are surviving this disease. And surviving it better. Please. And thank you. 🧡
