🧡 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is here 🧡

Each March, communities across the country take time to recognize individuals with developmental disabilities and the importance of equity, understanding, and opportunity. It’s a moment to move beyond awareness and focus on action. Especially when it comes to access and inclusion.

You may see a lot of orange this month. Orange is used to represent optimism, determination, and forward momentum, symbolizing the belief that inclusive communities and workplaces are stronger when everyone has the chance to participate and succeed.

For Challenge Workforce Solutions, this month reflects the work we do every day. We focus on helping people connect to meaningful employment, develop skills, and build confidence through work. When individuals are supported and given the right opportunities, they don’t just fill jobs... they add value, perspective, and talent to the workforce.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is a reminder that inclusion isn’t seasonal. It’s an ongoing commitment to recognizing ability, removing barriers, and creating pathways to employment that work for everyone. Join us this March by wearing orange and supporting a workforce where opportunity is open to all.

Challenge would like to wish Andrew H, Emily M, Anne N, and Jimmy🌟GOOD LUCK🌟 as the Special Olympics winter games begin today in Rochester!

Andrew, Emily, and Anne will all be competing in skiing⛷️, and Jimmy (pictured) will be competing in snowshoeing❄️!

Additionally, to add to our well-wishing, Jimmy's coach, Karli, is also a finalist for the Southern Tier's 2026 Outstanding Coach of the Year🏆!

Good luck to all, we know you are going to do amazing!

"Anne has been part of Special Olympics New York for more than seven years, growing into both a decorated athlete and a respected leader.

Now 35, Anne is best known for her achievements in swimming, where she competes in events ranging from the 50-meter butterfly to long-distance freestyle. She also has competed in alpine skiing and cycling, embracing every opportunity to test her abilities."
