Each year, Subaru invites its retailers to partner with local cancer treatment centers as part of their commitment to making a difference in the lives of patients. The donated blankets help manage treatment side effects, such as chills from chemotherapy, while also offering a sense of comfort and care. Maguire Subaru of Ithaca donated blankets to patients at the Cayuga Cancer Center, while Simmons-Rockwell Subaru provided blankets for patients at Arnot Health’s Falck Cancer Center.

The Ithaca Hash House Harriers (IH3) are a local running group that held their inaugural fundraiser this year: The IH3 First Annual Rainbow Dress Run! Raised funds from this event were graciously donated to CRCFL. The Ithaca Chapter has been running around the area since 1988. Some of our staff got the opportunity to meet with them and thank them for supporting a cause so close to them and dear to us. Thank you, IH3!!

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free, 12-week small group program designed to support adult cancer survivors in their recovery. Participants meet twice a week for 90 minutes in a safe, supportive environment led by trained instructors. The program focuses on improving strength, cardiovascular fitness, balance, and flexibility, while also addressing the emotional well-being of survivors. LIVESTRONG at the Y helps participants regain confidence, build community, and improve overall quality of life after cancer treatment. All fitness levels are welcome, and medical clearance is required prior to participation. Email msteffie@ithacaymca.com to get started!

Thanks to generous support from the KEYS Program, Maestro Music Therapy is currently accepting new clients for no-cost music therapy services for children and teens (ages 0–17) in NYS who are:

Living with cancer
The sibling of a child with cancer
The child of a parent or caregiver with cancer

Music therapy can help support emotional expression, reduce anxiety, foster connection, and provide a creative outlet for kids who may be facing overwhelming or complex experiences. Through songwriting, music-making, movement, and play, we offer a safe space for children to process and express—especially when words are hard to find. No music experience necessary to benefit from music therapy!

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day - a day to raise awareness for one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women.

While there's no early detection yet, learning the signs is the best way to bring concerns to your doctor. Symptoms such as bloating, eating problems, abnormal weight loss, fatigue and urinary issues can indicate the disease.

If you or someone you know has Ovarian Cancer, you're not alone! You can join our weekly Women's Group on Wednesdays at 1pm, or learn about other local resources like the Live Like Liz fund (livelikeliz.fund)
